Kya Roumimper Ascani is a social justice educator working to embolden communities to organize, mobilize, and resist systems of oppression. Her work towards liberation is rooted in restorative practices, community-focused, and sustainability positioned. She works alongside communities to develop their equity lenses and advocacy skills. Kya has served Keene State College as the Equity Education and Community Advocacy Director and the Coordinator of Multicultural Support and Success. She possesses a strong background in coalition building, strategic partnerships, equity training, and grant writing. Kya holds a B.A in Holocaust and Genocide Studies from Keene State College and M.Ed in Community Engagement from the Merrimack College in North Andover, MA.
